Another Walk Through Dublin

I’ve tried, really tried to keep a positive attitude about the weather around here, I’ve intended to include a few pictures from around here but you know I just can’t do it yet.  We’ve had two major winter storms that’s brought feet of snow…you read right:  feet of snow.  Now a third winter storm is predicted and it’s got you guessed it:  snow.  Worse than the snow to me is the awful cold bundled with it.  Blame Canada I guess, these fronts are all from across the border.  I would feel bad about that but my wife has family in the Philippines so they’ve seen the floods that bring death and destruction so often.  Fortunately this year they weren’t directly hit by the storms that have made the news lately.  Maybe cold isn’t so bad!  God has continued to move in a very powerful way in our church and things are moving that I honestly thought would never move.  We have gotten some real work done on our ministry page and I thought I’d share the link to that site with those that might be interested:  http://eagleministriesinternational.com/.  I believe that there’s a real evidence of God doing something amazing here and I don’t think it’s going to just fade away, the momentum keeps building.  Our church is so small but again and again we find ourselves propelled into the nations of the world.  It’s not like a church that’s so big that if everyone gave fifty cents they’d by an airline ticket…we’re talking a handful of people, none of whom are rich believing God and then amazingly making it to places many only dream about.  All glory to God for that!  I salute those that are involved with ministry and I’m personally endlessly grateful to our little church but most of all to our great God!

I’m sorting through the pictures I’ve got and sharing them bit by bit.  Today I have more of Dublin streets.  I love the flavor of old Europe .  It all feels artistic to me somehow.  The narrow streets always make me curious as to what could be down that alley .  Seeing establishments that have been around for hundreds of years never gets old either .  If you get hungry you can often enough find yourself eating at a place that’s older than our Constitution!  We rounded the corner and our friend informed us that it was one of the oldest places in that area…lo and behold there’s a sign with our family name there …is it really our family?  I have no idea but it still tickled us!  I looked at some of these shot later and thought they were somewhat creepy but at the time I just felt a sense of wonder and desire to explore what’s on the other side .  Places like this always beckoned…I think I drank far more coffee in Europe then I do at home …but just look at this place…can you blame me?  People live with these wonderful little shops…the accent that sounds exotic to my ears and buildings like this… …yeah, I miss it!  Sometimes there’s modern art that provides some startling contrast…I just like how this shot presented itself .  Store fronts always caught my eye and I don’t think there was a way to take a bad picture here !  They had flowers hung everywhere that gave the sense of spring though it definitely felt like fall to me .  Just look at all the flowers on this building !  I think I’ve told you about my Dublin door fetish haven’t I ?  Some things are just beyond words …  Go ahead and share my fetish with me, !  We have an old mansion here in our city and this reminded me of it somewhat though I have no doubt this place is older .  I’m going to leave you with this glimpse through my eyes at Dublin and a reminder that God is on the move…it doesn’t matter how it appears or where you live…He’s moving.  God hasn’t forgotten about you nor loved you any less.  God bless and keep you!

What a blessed journey... Thanks for sharing the details in photos of what can really be beautiful about an old city. I am not a city person but when I see your photos I want to visit all those place you see with your camera. As I help you look at nature more closely you are helping me look at the beautiful details found in the cities that I would have overlooked. Love your new look here and larger print. So much easier on my eyes. Amazing all the snow you are getting. WE are very cold at night but blazing blue sky and just a bit nippy during the day. But we are suppose to get snow in a couple days. Have a great week and don't get buried by the snow.. Hugs Carrie

Joe, the building with all the flowers on it... forgive my ignorance, but was wondering if people live there like units/townhouses or is it part of the store below? Confusing also because it has three crosses at the top. I haven't ever travelled outside of Australia, so it's a wonderful way to see the world through your eyes. Thank you. Love to you and your family. Kerrie

Dear Joe, God is always on the move, Amen. I always find your blogs so uplifting. I'm so grateful to have been able to talk to you the other day. I have looked at the website of your church, which is doing mighty things. I must say I clicked to read the 'Statement of Faith' and read no further than number one. I am totally in agreement. Thank you for your prayers. God bless.

Wow, it's been awhile since I've been around to your Space and I apoligize, man! I am trying to get this business started and boy is it alot of work, LOL! I am moving also but not until November but packing all the same.
I loved your photo's of Dublin! I have been to parts of Europe but never Ireland, yet I have roots there, my dad was Irish and I would love to see where his family came from.
The church link was good too! I saw you in a couple of those pic's. I don't like the cold to much either, so far we are getting sunshine, I don't mean to rub it in, LOL! Soon the rain will start and continue from a few months. I am so happy your back safe from your trip and although exhausting at times, I imagine all the memories you will have,
Take care, XX

Did you know that lots of doors are blue in Ireland because they're good luck and they keep the faery people happy? Interesting. I loved all of our photos. When I was in england, the house I stayed in was older than our Country by 50 years! It's really hard to tie it all together in your head, really.
Love hearing about your adventures!

Of all the pics I like the building with all the flowers best...it has such character and reminds me of the towns I went through in Germany...everywhere I looked it reminded me of the postcards one bought to send home...it is hard to describe it, really. It was cozy and felt like home....another favorite memory was the old people out sweeping their sidewalk or street in front of their shops or homes...I can't really tell you why other than it made an impact on me...

Glad to hear God is moving there...that is always good news!!!
grace to you

I am very glad you put in the link to your church. I hope not just me and these already here, but all the blog family go.
I think you captured the best of the best in these two posts with photos of Dublin.

Wonderful post my friend. I spent quite sometime on the Eagle Ministries website. How can I buy some of your cd's? Had to ask. Love the doors! Hugh looked a long time at the doors. Being a woodworker, well you know. I really like the store fronts. So quaint and cozy homey like. I best go check out Lovely's blog once again to see what she is doing. Take care my friend and weather it be cold rainy or hot, we can't change the weather just our attitude.
