    Visiting Christ Church

I remember the first time I was able to visit London, England and see some of the wonderful structures there.  During the time there were some anti-war protests during the Gulf War and it had turned decidedly un-American so we felt it best to come inside until the crowds had passed.  We went into an old Cathedral and the beauty and peace of that place simply took my breath away.  I still have a sense of peace when entering such places…maybe it’s the memory of London back in the day but more I feel it’s a sense that God is always looking out for me.  Walking the streets of Dublin I saw a rather unusual thing on the side of a church .  It’s not often that I see a skull and crossbones greeting me as I enter a church!  We walked some distance past buildings that I enjoyed just taking in as we walked along .  Soon we found ourselves in front of a castle like structure known as Christ Church .  There was no wrong angle to take pictures here !  It was all enough to take a person’s breath away !  Even the doors were something out of “Lord of the Rings” don’t you think ?  Before entering in to see what the inside held for us I had to get one more shot of the front that was an absolute work of art !  Okay, just one more of the outside…good things come in threes…this shot shows that …I mean it can’t always be bad things that come in threes right?  There was an Irish gentleman inside that had such a great sense of humor…he joked with us for a bit and talked and joked with my son…it was a fine way to start our tour!  We noticed this and had to get a picture of it .  This looks just like one of the people that was traveling with us (Yes, Frank…it’s a self portrait I’d say!).  I can’t get enough of stained glass windows !  This was on the pulpit in the church…I’d say he was studying pretty hard !  There was a massive pipe organ here .  It would take more of a camera than mine to do it justice .  It’s hard to describe the lighting and the wonder of this place.  Much of the light there was came through windows such as this one .  There were treasure such as this one that was painted on gold leaf .  You may know that our church is called Eagle Ministries Int.  therefore I felt this shot was appropriate .  The backs of the seats had carvings of wandering pilgrims and I felt this appropriate too …we’ve wandered many nations on whatever mission the Lord sent us.  I can never get enough of it!  This is for the angel lovers out there …magnificent don’t you think?  Before we left I looked down and noticed the continuing wandering pilgrim theme …wow!  Here we are in October, it’s cold and has been rainy…it all reminds me of Ireland and Scotland.  I dearly miss our friends and long for the day when we can return again.  I hope you enjoyed this little virtual tour of Christ Church.  God’s blessings to you!

Dearest Joe, I have been here for a while reading through your missionary journals. To see the world through your eyes is such an incredible blessing to me. At this moment I really am speechless! I know there is a BIG world out there I don't know about, but you really bought it not only into my heart and soul but into my home. I could not have dreamt up such wonderful looking places, grand doorways, cobblestone pathways, it really does make me so excited about the future and the Kingdom of God. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead filled with God's blessings. Love and Care, Kerrie xXx

At first the doors were my favorite shot, but then I saw the pipe organ, but then the wandering pilgrims on the back of the seats! So much beauty! I don't think I could worship there though - I would be too distracted and constantly looking around at all the man made beauty... LOL!

You have been very busy time for these fantastic pictures for show to us and I really enjoy to look at them.
AS sane as Rambling On that the skull and crossbones thats very unusuall to have at the church?
It must have a story in behind them?

Yes...Very fascinating and it also makes my mind wander with thoughts and questions.
From lowering a paralyzed man through the roof into a home, time passing through hundreds of years, to majestic stone buildings that almost look like a fortress. Makes one ponder eh....

Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful weekend...Greg

Fascinating post Joe. I wonder how old that church is. The door within a door frame within within amazingly stunning! Did you get to hear the pipe organ? The sound I bet would set your insides shaking to the resening vibes! The carved step risers we have done that! On our cnc of course. The pilgrim theme is quite intreguing. Sorry my spelling is off here. Loved this tour my friend. I can only imagine the sights were so much for one to take it all in. The locals there who see it everyday must take it for granted. Yes Fall weather is here and we just have to dress warmer and prepare for the colder days. How is the home schooling going after such a wonderful trip? Had to ask lol.
